Fomorin Charged With Shortage in State Audit

Clermont County official William Fomorin, clerk of courts for three years and former chief deputy, was arrested on embezzlement charges following audits by State Examiner W. H. Howland. He pleaded not guilty and bond was set at 2500 dollars.

Grace Hughes and Floyd Duchemin Wed at Lynchburg Parsonage

Grace Hughes and Floyd Duchemin were married last Saturday at 8 o'clock in a double ring ceremony at the Methodist parsonage in Lynchburg. Rev Geo Larkin Fox officiated with Elizabeth Perry as pianist and Edgar Ansteadt singing I love you truly. Afterward the couple and guests attended a wedding supper at the Duchemin farm near Owensville. The bride is the daughter of Mr and Mrs John Hughes of Owensville and the groom a son of Mrs Anna Duchemin. they will live on the Duchemin farm and host friends there.

Milford Masons Honor Veterans With June Talk

Batavia Attorney To Receive Degree From Yale

Batavia attorney Franklin Wiseman leaves for Yale University to receive a Doctor in Science of Jurisprudence. He is affiliated with the Cincinnati firm Nichols Morris Wood Marx and Ginter. Wiseman earned a Yale one year scholarship after Cincinnati law school and completed his thesis for the degree. He is the son of Mr and Mrs J M Wiseman of Batavia.

4-H Clubs plan trip and sewing club welcome

4 H Forward Workers met at a Go shen schon building on June 6. A truck trip to Coney Island was scheduled for June 25. Demonstrations by Andria Roudebush and Mary Anne Motsinger. Busy Workes 4 H Sewing Club welcomed Phyllis Humphreys and Betty McCloy on June 12 at Mrs. Doughman's Batavia. Twelve attended. A Lake Allyn picnic was discussed for June 15 with Muriel Gallagher serving refreshments. Next meeting set for June 19 with Charlotte Himes.

Mt Carmel's Flying Needle club met June 12 at the school house with Mrs Maddox as leader. Regular business and a Lake Allyn picnic were planned for Saturday. The president appointed three members to arrange travel to Coney Island on June 2. After business members sewed items for fair exhibits and adjourned to meet again June 26 at the same place.

Tax Return Deadline Announced for Ohio Licensees

Ohio license holders must file a tax return with the Ohio Tax Commission in Columbus by Saturday June 22 1935 regardless of sales. Tax Examiner Rollings Coyle will assist at the County Treasurer’s office in Batavia on June 21 and 22 with no extensions after that date.

Four Men Injured in Lumber Truck Crash on Goshen Pike

Four men were injured Monday when a lumber truck skidded into a pole on Goshen pike near Mt. Repose. Daniel and James Heisler of Goshen suffered fractured ribs and collar bone, and a fractured left arm. Daniel Gibbs of Pleasant Plain had a fractured pelvic bone and bruises. Roy Gibbs fractured a rib. They received first aid from Dr. J C Spence Milford and were sent to the city general hospital.

The Portsmouth Times reports a statewide D A V gathering with over 600 veterans from across Ohio. Albert L. Daniels of Greenfield served as toastmaster while John J. A large Clermont County audience attended grading sorting and parasite control demonstrations at the E C Malottan Sow Stock Farm east of Newtonsville Monday afternoon. County Agent Baugh arranged the program with experts including L A Kauffman C W mans Russell Kimber and others from Ohio State University and related associations. The event illustrated how purebred rams feeding parasite control and proper wool and lamb sorting can double incomes for sheep growers.

Joint 4 H Picnic Draws Leaders From Two Counties

Four-H leaders and members from Clermont and Hamilton counties gathered at Lake Allyn near Olive Branch for a large annual picnic. Activities included swimming and games, with planning for Lake Allyn 4-H Camp set for July 29 to August 10. Two Suits Recall School Bus Crash

The Amelia school bus accident on April 8 between Williamsville and Amelia led to two damage suits in common pleas court. Attorney Harry McKeever represents La Verne Hall and Ada May Hall, injured in the crash, against operators George Brooks of Withamsville and Frank Monjar of Amelia. The two suits seek a total of $3,000 in damages.
