One of Ohio’s oldest fairs with a fascinating past
The Clermont County Fair traces its origins to 1846 with the Franklin Agricultural and Horticultural Society. It grew from a farmers’ group to the Clermont County Agricultural Society in 1849, holding its first CCAS fair on September 28, 1849 at pinkham Farm Bantam. The early years drew about 2,000 attendees and offered premiums for grain, buggy designs, and handiwork as laws promoted agricultural advancement in Ohio.

Clermont County Fair: Move to Olive Branch and later sites
A 1856 split in the Clermont County Agricultural Society moved the county fair to Olive Branch, later to Boston Owensville and finally to the current site. The 1862 fair amid Civil War tension saw shipments to Union armies and fears of Confederate attack. The 1864 relocation established the long held site, with officers John H. Branch and others guiding the fair and floral hall built on Stonelick Township’s first school site.
