The Boston Fair enters its 41st year with superior displays as the county cites new attractions. The organizer thanks Boston patrons, noting office closure but plans July 29 to August 2 visits, with dental surgeon H. H. Rapinson advertising services in Milford on the first and third Mondays each month.
Brown County News notes Clermont county Democrat EKJ Swing, who taught at West Union this summer, traveled home last Friday and is praised by many locals. George L Talley of New Richmond, Cincinnati mail carrier, was struck by lightning while fixing a pipe Sunday evening. he recovered and continued work, the second lightning strike on Mr Talley this year.
On January 1, 1890 teachers must add hygiene narcotics effects to certificates. Superintendent Williams will lead extra branch instruction during the Institute with county examiners testing the Saturday after. Examiners may place the branch on certificates without exam. A medal may be offered for best reader recitation and a lengthy essay. Competitors must be Institute members and either teachers or county pupils.

Two year old Edith Whittaker, daughter of Mr and Mrs Geo E Whittaker, died at her Bethel home Thursday and was buried in Concord cemetery after services by Dr Sutherland. The Felicity education institute announces a large board of instructors led by F. M. Robinson and C. J. Swing with staff from Batavia Milford Avondale and Santa Anna. A reception chaired by A I Clark features Stella Houser Miss Ada Jennings and Miss Stella Carver among others. The president urges all teachers and locals to attend as the session promises superior instruction and enhanced social events.
