Georgetown readers learn Col. William Howard of Batavia, a well known figure, is seriously ill but improving. He is described as genial and pleasant and has moved downstairs, with expectations of soon being out on the street.

Jake Kline of Monroe township delivered his crop of tobacco in town last Friday. He is described as a scientific and mathematical agitator of the soil, working to double grass growth with his methods.
Tur Bust Salve is advertised as a universal cure for cuts bruises sores ulcers salt rheum fever sores tetter chapped hands chilblains corns and all skin eruptions. It promises satisfaction or money refunded with price per box and lists W. B. Walser in Williamsport and J. B. Walker as sellers.
An old advertisement offers one hundred dollars to cure catarrh with Hall's Catarrh Cure from F. J. Cheney & Co. Toledo. Includes testimonials from local wholesale druggists and a bank cashier endorsing Cheney. Also notes internal use and blood surface action with price six seventy-five cents per bottle. A stray blurb promotes obtaining a handsome baby via Charley Griffis at a Main Street placard.
