Clermont County to Be Served By New Natural Resources Office
A. W. Marion announced plans to divide Ohio into six districts for the six divisions of the Department of Natural Resources. Districts spread across Lake Erie waters, Findlay, Portage Lakes, Athens, Chillicothe, and Xenia with existing facilities to serve as headquarters. The change aims to boost coordination, public convenience, and reduce costs, with forestry and wildlife already using district plans. Dr. Charles A. Dambach said the move will save about $50,000 annually in rent and maintenance.
