Milford Kiwanis Club members met for a Monday night fish fry at the lodge on Camm's Lake. The report notes various local visits and visits from relatives including a former mayor William Brower expected home from Jewish Hospital this week after over a week of treatment.
Milford Cubs defeated Mariemont Cubs 4 to 1 on August 12 to clinch the elimination series crown in the Cub League. Milford won two earlier elimination games 7 to 2 and 4 to 1, finishing unbeaten in elimination play, with Cornwell of Milford fanning eight and Stefanowski of Mariemont one.
Amelia stays undefeated in the County Baseball League series as Vic Leslie and Garnett Cann drive a 4 2 win over Goshen. Goshen rallies in the ninth before a sharp Channel play ends the game. upcoming games set for August 29 include Owensville Amelia Williamsburg New Richmond Loveland Goshen. A postseason game between the county champions and league all stars is planned with proceeds funding league expenses.
Loring M. Myers has been visiting Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Macke in New Orleans the past two weeks. Mary Jane Miller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Miller, is spending several weeks in the East visiting relatives in Stamford Connecticut and Long Island New York. Sunday guests at the home of Oscar Balzhiser and family were Mr. and Mrs. Doerr of Madeira and James Snell and wife of Perintown.
