Car Crash Near Mt. Zion Injures Two Men

Last Saturday morning near Mt. Zion Ohio a head on collision between Henry DeMaris and Frank Moer tle wrecked both cars. Moertle is hospitalized at The Christ Hospital with a broken arm and shock while DeMaris is at Lloyd Wests home with three broken ribs and bruises.

Upper Clough Civic Picnic Opens New Club

The first annual picnic and outing of the newly formed Upper Clough Civic Club is set for September 5 and 6 on Glen Este Road between Clough Pike and Ohio Pike. Entertainment and refreshments will be provided. officers are George Weber, Al Caldwell, Nick Stozic, and Dorothy L Woods.

New Brickcrete Plant Planned Near New Richmond

Brickcrete, a cement and sand brick with color, will be produced at a Camp Dennison facility and a second plant near New Richmond on State Route 52. Fred Linder is manager. Howard G. Rabe is president. The cold process requires no heating. 3,000 bricks daily with six workers. Three demonstration houses on Nagle Road show the product to builders.

Amelia area residents and others gathered to oppose a proposed financing method for a new water district. The County Water Administration plans to raise about 750000 for dam and plant work, with owners paying 4.26 per front foot. Fire destroys farm home near Amelia

Monday evening fire damaged the home of Ray Johnson near Amelia to about 3500 dollars. Firefighters from Amelia laid 2000 feet of hose to draw water from a pond on a neighboring farm and saved part of the building after Mrs. Johnson found fire in the attic and summoned James Gabriel next door.

Exhibit Space Filled at 99th Clermont County Fair

The 99th Clermont County Fair opened with all exhibit space taken. Theodore Davis of Mt. Carmel demonstrates broom making at a booth sponsored by the Fair Board, Batavia Rotary Club, and Clermont Courier. Governors’ greetings praise Ohio agriculture and fair cooperation, noting Garden Club displays and upcoming horse shows and harness races.

Knothole Teams Clash in Amelia Games Day

Amelia hosts Knothole events next Sunday August 2 with a 12 pm basket picnic and two baseball games on the Amelia grounds. Amelia Dairy Champions of Class O meet an all star team, while Amelia Hall's Grocery champions of Class B face another all star squad. A 15 event field meet follows and Mt Carmel Class A meets an all star team from Meckstroth.
