Alumni Day set at fair youth choir event
The All Ohio State Fair Youth Choir schedules Alumni Day for Saturday August 20 with 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. registration at the Rhodes Center, a 1 p.m. general meeting, and an 8 to 8:30 p.m. Coliseum Show. Honors will go to members of the 1st, 5th, 10th and 15th year choirs. Batavia Rotary hosts speaker Michael D. Crone on nuclear power at 7:30 a.m. Aug. 20. A Batavia Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary car wash is set for 10 a.m. at Batavia Electric Supply, rain date Aug. 27. Sardinia Lodge 254 plans an outdoor raising Aug. 20 at 2 p.m. at the same location as last year.

Education director named for Clermont Mercy Hospital
Dan Stenersen has been named director of education at Clermont Mercy Hospital. He will develop and coordinate educational programs for hospital staff and the community leveraging Clermont Mercy and external resources. Previously he served as assistant administrator at Mt. Healthy Christian Home and holds degrees in education ethics and management while pursuing a doctorate at the University of Cincinnati. He and his wife Jody reside in Clifton. he hails from Blanchester.

Milford unveils 1983 84 opening schedule for schools
Milford Schools will start the 1983 84 year with classes on Tuesday August 30 teachers reporting August 29 for inservice new teachers orientation August 26 Labor Day closure September 6 and vacations including Veterans Day Thanksgiving Christmas through January 2 Memorial Day and spring break. Milford Middle Schools Main and Shawnee orient in late August with grade specific sessions and calls for attendance by sixth and seventh graders and parents. Goshen High School Class of 1968 held its 25th reunion on August 7 at Goshen Middle School with 20 of 51 graduates attending and a few out of state classmates among attendees.
