Historic New Richmond Inc Buys Gowdy House for Restoration
Historic New Richmond Inc purchased the Gowdy House at 125 George Street New Richmond as the first step toward turning it into a river era museum and headquarters. President Tom Greene announced the move and outlined restoration plans that aim to return the property to its 1830 to 1850 condition. The group has started fundraising with proceeds from June Ferry Boat Races and plans an October auction and a November event, plus sales of a restoration themed Christmas card and other items.
