Centennial TV saga dubbed longest drama on screen
NBC officially classifies Centennial as a mini series yet at 26 hours it becomes the longest television drama. James Michener’s epic unfolds from a 15 000 B C opening to the 20th century with David Janssen narrating and Michael Ansara Robert Conrad and Barbara Carrera among the stars. The production blends on location and studio work, but critics question its depth against heavy Sunday night competition and an extended schedule.
