Elyria Coach Clymer Predicted Streaks Victory
Elyria’s Roy Clymer boasted two weeks ago he would back the Streaks to win after scouting Chaney in Youngstown. Lorain’s Harold Pryor doubted Elyria’s defeat, while Lorain journalist John Siffell said the Lavenders were outsmarted and outfought by Sandusky. Other notes project Ohio State title hopes, Purdue game observations, and a Cleveland Heights Lakewood tilt with Heights seeking momentum at home.

Simon Pure Grid Policy Adopted At Pitt
University of Pittsburgh adopts a Simon Pure grid policy banning special grants for football players. Head coach Dr John B Sutherland says the plan has 109 percent support from coaches and aims to place aid only through an employment agency for students in need. Athletic Director James Hagan says the rule, in effect since 1940, will shorten schedules to eight games against major opponents and focus on Eastern teams. Forty-five players began a Brazil expedition in Sao Paulo seeking news of Colonel Fawcett and two companions who vanished in 1925.
