Chicago Couple Die In Route 18 Crash Near Wellington
Arthur W. Foley, assistant advertising manager of the Chicago Tribune, and his wife were killed when their Buick left Route 18 near Wellington and plunged into Black River. Foley, 38, died at the scene. his wife, 34, died shortly after at Falls Clinic. The pair had checked into the Mayflower Hotel in Akron the previous night. Deputy sheriffs investigated the fatal crash.

Dog Rescues Woman and Child as Four Drown in Pitt Lake
An English setter saved a woman and child from a Pitt Lake rowboat that foundered thirty miles from Vancouver. Mrs Harold Routly and Jacqueline Hayes aged 6 clung to the dog and were hauled to shore. Four others from Coquitlam, David Henderson Mansell Reece Joseph Fontaine and Marie Routley 5 drowned. Two survivors, Mrs Robert Hayes and J Anderson, were rescued by a logger. The boat sank stern first after the outboard motor started.

He left the home of Mrs Robert Rothrock where he roomed and had attended no classes since enrollment October 5. He is the son of Frank Clinker of Plymouth Richland County. Clinker has an artificial hand and a limp with a mustache.

George Horace Lorimer 65 former editor of the Saturday Evening Post died of pneumonia at his King's Oak farm in Wyncote Pa. He left the Post Jan 1 1937 after 37 years as editor in chief building a 1 800 circulation journal into a five cent weekly with over 5 000 000 readers. He was succeeded by Wesley Winans Stout. Lorimer is survived by his widow Alma V Ennis and his sons Graeme and Burford.

Man and Woman Die as Train Strikes Auto at Crossing
Adrian Michigan October 23 A man and a woman tentatively identified as Mr and Mrs George Paine of Sand Creek were killed when their automobile was struck by a westbound New York Central passenger train at Main Street crossing. A taxi driver following the Paine car said he heard the train whistle and saw the flasher lights working. He believed the couple going south were blinded by the tossing sun.
