Hurricane Inez slashed the Mexican coast north of Tampico and headed inland, potentially sparing South Texas and its multimillion dollar citrus crop. The Weather Bureau in New Orleans said the storm’s 50 mile wide eye would move inland about 2 to 100 miles north of Tampico and 130 to 220 miles south of Brownsville, near Morillo Sabino and Nuevo.
