U S Senate approved $1 million for Lorain Harbor projects including river channel work and bank stabilization. Rep Charles Mosher said the cut from $2 million matters little as a lift type railroad bridge was postponed pending height decisions, with $1 million planned to sustain ongoing harbor work and maintenance.
Vermilion received $35000 for harbor planning in the public works bill approved by the Senate yesterday. It marks the first step toward a $1 million Vermilion harbor improvement program launched nearly a year ago.
