Minority Oberlin Bank shareholders oppose sale plan
Two Oberlin Bank minority investors Gary Wessell and Garis Distelhorst challenged the $8.5 to $9.2 million sale to Central Bancorporation Inc citing loss of local control and loan priority for Oberlin businesses. They organized a meeting with fellow dissidents as the holding company nears approval. The bank operates in Oberlin Elyria Wellington South Amherst and Kipton with 600 shareholders and major holders including Clark Jennings Hoover and Billington.
