Shots fired near Indian leaders as Gandhi era threat looms

A 20 foot range gunman fired from a home made pistol near Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and President Zail Singh during a memorial in New Delhi. No injuries reported though two bystanders received superficial wounds. police say the shooter is a non Sikh with no known ties to terror or insurgent groups. Leaders remained safe and unshaken amid heightened security by India’s NSG.

Lorain group pushes Congress to press Syria over Terry Anderson

Lorain based Free Terry Anderson Committee aims to rally all 435 Congressmen to sign a letter to Syria’s President Assad seeking the release of Lorain native Terry Anderson and other Americans held hostage in Lebanon.
