Wakefield Sent to Oakland by Yanks Heads to Chandler

Dick Wakefield prepared to appeal Baseball Commissioner A B Chandler for a second time in a month as the Yankees announced he would report to the Oakland Acorns in the Pacific Coast League. Wakefield, upset at being moved, said he would challenge the deal that sent him in part payment for Jackie Jensen and Billy Martin, valued at 100000 dollars, and questioned why no major league club would risk 10000 on a prior 52000 bonus. He claimed he had been railroaded from the majors and vowed to pursue the case in civil courts if needed. General Manager George Weiss disputed the allegation, saying all clubs waived on Wakefield.
