Two Barns Shed and Livestock Destroyed by Lightning

Soldier Shot By Accident In Avon Lake Critically Wounded
Deputy sheriffs and Avon Lake police investigated an apparent accidental shooting in Avon Lake yesterday. Soldier Paul A. Carley 29 of Hemlock Michigan was critically wounded when a .38 caliber pistol Bergevix 18 of Cleveland was handling discharged. Carley and Bergevix were Ft. Knox soldiers on leave en route to Bergevix home. The bullet struck Carley’s side and lodged in the car door. Carley was taken to Bay View Hospital Bay Village in critical condition.
