Lamb Wins First Major League Start In Indians Victory
Ray Lamb, once an offbeat screen presence with Al Capone lore, outduelled the New York Yankees for his first major league win as a starter. The Cleveland right-hander, debuting a new role from bullpen to rotation, scattered seven hits over eight innings, walking five and striking out five. Nettles homered for New York, but Lamb's fastball, slider, and a sharp curve carried Cleveland to a 3-1 decision at home.
