Tornadoes Hit Southern States Amid Severe Flooding
A broad storm swept from southwest Louisiana to the mid Atlantic causing heavy rains and flash floods in Tennessee. Hundreds fled homes as roads flooded up to 10 feet. Tornadoes damaged structures in Fairplay South Carolina and mobile homes in nearby areas. No injuries reported. Tornadoes also touched down near Birmingham Alabama Holtville Opelika and near Columbus Georgia with minor damage and scattered power outages.
