Sohio denies DOE overpricing charges as meritless
Sohio Oil of Ohio and six other major firms rejected Department of Energy claims that they overcharged for crude oil by about 17 million dollars over six years. The company said the charges are without merit and an attempt at headline seeking, arguing DOE's methods are improper and unverified. Cleveland based Sohio said it has not been charged with willful violations and insists it correctly interpreted price controls from the 1973 Arab embargo.
