Three C T women win eight state awards
Chronicle Telegram staffers Connie Davis Embree Hoffman and Betty Hinman led a total of eight first place honors in the Ohio Press Women’s 1972 writing contest for newspapers with 20 001 to 100 000 circulation. Davis topped the group with five awards including page make up and feature stories while Hoffman and Hinman earned multiple recognitions for historical articles home furnishings and personal columns. The state winners were selected from 270 entries with national competition to follow. awards ceremony set for Cleveland.

Ohio educators to probe Amherst schools investigation announced
Ohio Education Association will conduct a full scale probe of Amherst schools September 5 to 7 at the request of the Amherst Teachers Association. A preliminary one day probe was held in September. Norwalk Fremont Phone Cable Project Announced
Northern One Telephone Co. announced a $372,400 cable expansion to boost long distance capacity between Norwalk and Fremont. C. T. Winn said construction will extend from the Norwalk central office along Rt. 20 to about four miles west of Clyde.
