About 200 people gathered in a silent vigil at Oberlin College to memorialize students killed at Kent State and Jackson State two years ago and to protest American involvement in Vietnam. Florenzia Powell, a service station operator from Elyria, was kidnapped and robbed of 1750 after a man and a dog were used to block her car on West River Road. Police traced the route via Rt 113 and Rt 60 to Wakeman before contacting sheriffs. Powell plans to alter her bank routine.
UPI reports federal Judge Frank J Battisti refused a request for a new countywide primary in Cuyahoga County after voting irregularities. He ordered 16 of 1,788 precincts reopened next Tuesday to remedy site closures and hours not met. The ruling follows a suit by Thomas Shaughnessy, who lost the Democratic congressional nomination to Louis Stokes. Humphrey leads McGovern narrowly in Minnesota delegate tallies as 99 percent of statewide votes counted. 38 at large delegates for Humphrey, with district results still unsettled amid Ohio supplemental votes.

An armed man hijacked an Eastern Air Lines Boeing 727 flying from Allentown to Washington with 56 aboard. He entered the cockpit after takeoff and ordered a landing at Dulles International Airport in Virginia. The motive and final plan were not immediately known.
