Five horses and chicken die in Columbia Station barn fire

A Thursday night blaze at Hickory Ridge Farms on South Boone Road destroyed a 40-year-old Butler building barn. Five horses owned by James Bafford and a chicken perished as firefighters from Columbia Township and mutual aid crews fought the fire. The Bartrugs who own the farm could not determine a cause as the structure and hay supply were consumed.

West Side blotter reports multiple arrests and a theft

Police recorded offenses from March 4 to March 6 including Jeffrey Libengood 43 charged with operating under the influence and abusing intoxicants after a road stop on West 35th Street. Raul Torres 48 faced heroin marijuana and drug paraphernalia possession charges after a jaywalking stop. A 21 year old woman was revived with naloxone after an overdose on Hawthorne Avenue.
