Vermilion man arrested for driving stolen car near Mill Hollow
A 25 year old Vermilion man Donald P Wood was seen driving a stolen car and throwing trash near the Mill Hollow Bacon house in Brownhelm Township on Wednesday evening. An off duty sheriff's deputy arrested him after he fled the scene and witnesses called for help. The car had been stolen about a half hour earlier in Vermilion. Wood was charged with receiving stolen property escape and obstructing official business.

Grease Fire Damages West Ave Kitchen
A pan of grease left on a stove started a kitchen fire at 435 West Ave. shortly after 1 a.m. Wednesday. The blaze at Virginia Williams home caused about 3500 dollars in damage to the range hood refrigerator cupboard and wall behind the range.
