Sportsmen Push General Ohio Fishing License Plan
Columbus reports the League of Ohio Sportsmen and the Izaak Walton League will urge the next legislature to enact a general fishing license for Ohio. A $1 license for anglers over 18 could yield about $500,000 yearly for the conservation division, with current licensed fishing bringing in about $100,000 annually. Opposition cites hardship for youths with little money, but supporters expect the age bar to ease that.
