County officials to hear crime planning method
Lorain County officials will attend a region wide meeting June 22 at Wooster College to learn a new crime planning method. Ohio Department of Urban Affairs will outline funding procedures for more than 20 million dollars in federal crime fight ing funds and discuss regional planning units across the state.

Elyria Man Arrested for Disorderly House at Noisy Party
Elyria police arrested Robert Leon Albright, 136 Lowell St., at 3:41 a.m. today on a disorderly house charge after neighbors reported a noisy party. About 60 people were at the scene. Albright allegedly slammed the door when approached and was the sole arrest. He posted bond for a Monday municipal court appearance. The house previously hosted a shooting on April 17 in which Harriet B. Brown of Cleveland was bound to the grand jury for shooting with intent to kill Elmer Steen of Lorain.

Nap blamed as woman is burned
A 48 year old woman Gracie Basley of 410 W 14th St suffered second degree burns on her right leg when the couch she slept on caught fire at 5 26 am. Firemen found the blaze out on arrival and noted she fell asleep while smoking. The fire was confined to the couch causing $300 damage.

Huron to Host Water Festival July 8 9 10 11
The Huron Water Festival scheduled July 8 through 11 is backed by the Lions Club of Huron as a community service project with participation from service and social groups. Events include queens contest midway rides free entertainment a parade water ski shows and a boat parade along with an antique car show square dancing and a fireman's water fight. Transportation from Cleveland to Huron on July 10 is arranged by the Cleveland Transit Board.
