Fishing now safe at Ridgeville lake
The no fishing signs at South Central Park's lake were removed after tests by a Cleveland area lab found safe nitrite levels. Mayor Richard Noll had banned fishing May 13 when dead catfish appeared due to fertilizer runoff increasing nitrites, killing about 80 catfish. City workers blocked a ditch reducing runoff. ODNR says nitrites are not a human health hazard.
