AP Poll Finds Gun Control Support Varied by Ownership
The AP GfK poll surveyed 1,009 adults with a 3.3 point margin. It shows broad backing for tighter gun laws yet strong opposition to banning handguns and to Australia style buybacks. Gun owners favor universal background checks but oppose assault style bans and high capacity magazines. Kimberly Huebner, a Texas teacher, supports some limits including AR style bans, arguing others misuse the Second Amendment.
