Car whips into trailer injuring California mother and children
A California motorist, Marlene C. Pickford, 33, of San Francisco, and her three children were treated and released from Elyria Memorial Hospital after their car skidded on wet pavement and struck the rear of a tractor trailer crossing the Baltimore and Ohio tracks on Route 10 in Lorain County. The truck, driven by Herbert A. Chase, 37, of LaGrange, had begun crossing the tracks when the collision occurred. Deputies reported no citations.

Four youths charged after Oberlin street fight
Four juveniles were taken into custody after a Wright Park dance fight that began with a boy and a girl and spread. A 15-year-old was charged with assault and battery, a 17-year-old with resisting arrest and other counts, and two younger youths with disorderly conduct. May Evans was knocked unconscious and treated at Allen Memorial Hospital. Lorain Police Hold Woman in Stabbing Case
Lorain police detain a 55 year old woman after a Saturday night struggle at Johnson's Recreation left a 41 year old man with arm thigh and kidney stab wounds. The injured man Wendell Woods is in serious condition at St Joseph Hospital while Clara Williams faces police suspicion and has a facial cut. No charges have been filed yet.

They used a rope to haul two TV sets onto the roof and were trying a third when the alarm sounded. Collision at JFK Memorial Parkway injures two teens
Elyria police charged 19 year old Philip Kuhn with failure to yield after his eastbound vehicle ran a stoplight near the John F. Kennedy Memorial Parkway Rt 57 intersection. Kuhn’s car rolled 160 feet before stopping in the westbound lanes. Peggie Adams 17 and passenger Susan Hughes 17 were hospitalized. Adams has a broken left leg in fair condition, Hughes is in serious condition with head injuries.
