Cape Kennedy Florida AP On the second anniversary of mans first landing on the moon the countdown began for a fourth American expedition to the lunar surface The Apollo 15 launch team started the countdown clock at 630 am EDT aiming for a 934 am blastoff next Monday Early activity involved feeding electrical power to the three stages of the Saturn 5 rocket The clock started at 104 hours 30 minutes The crew will rest at planned points and catchup time if needed Astronauts Scott Irwin hope to become the seventh and eighth humans to visit the moon They will land July 30 at the Apennine Mountains and drive 22 miles to collect lunar crust and explore Hadley Rille The three spacemen rehearsed in simulators and practiced driving a moon cart The launch team checked a new inver ter in the command ship and NASA noted a change following the Soyuz 11 tragedy.

Biker killed after riding into traffic on Rt 224
A 16 year old Black River High School sophomore Carl Gallatin of Homerville was killed when riding his bicycle across Rt 224 into the path of an eastbound tractor trailer driven by George Kenney. Gallatin died four hours after the 7:50 p.m. collision at the Rt 224 Rt 301 intersection in Medina County. The incident was witnessed by Spencer Troop 458 scouts. The driver was not charged.

Lorain 13 year old drowns at Harmon's Beach
