Natural gas prices may double by 1985

Columbia Gas of Ohio chairman Marvin E. White warned at a town meeting in Elyria that deregulation in 1985 could double natural gas prices from today’s about $3 per thousand cubic feet, with inflation at 18 percent this year and 13 percent last year. He cited competition from heating oil and discussed rate controls and local negotiating rights under home rule.

Murphy Store Faces Possible Closure at Ridgeview Center

G C Murphys Ridgeview store may close next month as lease renewal appears unlikely after bankruptcy forced Meyer Goldberg Supermarket out last year.
