NBC premieres a six hour docudrama titled King about Martin Luther King Jr. Critics like Rev. Jesse Jackson oppose the composite portrayal of allies such as Jackson, Abernathy, and Young. Abby Mann defends omissions as necessary for clarity while maintaining King's nonviolent legacy.
