Santa Claus Indiana Named After Christmas Eve Church Bells
In Santa Claus Indiana a 19th century church bell moment inspired the town name Santa Claus after a Christmas Eve service. The hamlet hosts Christmas Lake Village and three lakes, draws thousands of letters to Santa, and hosts Santa Claus Land the nation’s first theme park begun in 1945 by Louis J. Koch.
