Washington report says a sophisticated White House recording setup in the Situation Room may have captured discussions on Iran arms deals. The Washington Post cites a Jan 7 National Security Planning Group session with George Shultz opposing the deal.

Bond firm abandons lakefront hotel project

Lorain prospective buyers of 6.8 million in industrial revenue bonds pulled out after the City Council rejected the lakefront hotel plan. Consultant Karen Ball said salvage appears unlikely this year though Landmark Hotel Corp may rethink after January without the IRBs. A 14 million federal Urban Development Action Grant remains possibly available through May, with a 2 million state loan also possible.
