Water System Upgrade Plan Seeks Hundreds of Millions
Al Aena Consultants of Willoughby outlines a multi year upgrade plan for the city water and sewer systems. The proposal allocates 3.9 million for distribution, 70 million to replace 4 and 6 inch mains, 26.33 million for the treatment plant, 20.2 million for a transmission main, 27.7 million for other mains and 5.4 million for service pumps. Sewer improvements total 105 million covering pump stations storages overflows and the wastewater plant. The initiative aims to modernize a century old system with funding gaps cited.
Elyria to review sewer and water funds before vote in council
City residents can view the complete sewer fund and water fund review at the city site. City Council will discuss the matter with a possible 6 p.m. Monday meeting in City Council Chambers.
