Tractor pullers win near two thousand in Lorain prizes
The 34th annual Lorain County Fair tractor pulling contest paid about 1850 in prizes. In Class A 6500 pounds Don Sullinger led with Bruce Harris second and Rob Enright third, Dan Jordan fourth, and others through sixth. Class B 8500 pounds was led by John Honoshofsky with Tom Hricovec second and Dwayne Finkel third, through seventh Dean Rollin. Class C 10500 pounds was won by Don Ternes with Rollin second and Ternes third. Class D 13000 pounds winner was Tommy Trout, with Rollin second and Brown third. Class E 15500 pounds was won by Rod Knapp with Knapp second and Joe Ternes fourth. Class F 17500 pounds saw Jeff Miller first, Dan Brasee second, Shane Miller third, and others through sixth.

Two Lorain County women were elected to state offices in the Ladies Auxiliary of the Ohio State Fire Fighters Association. Bonnie Adams of Graf ton Township Belden Flames will serve a two year term on the executive board. Roselyn Street of Carlisle Township will be publicity chairman for two years. Both have long auxiliary records and local ties. The 49th annual conference was held at the Holiday Inn in Strongsville with the group eyeing a 50th anniversary in 1987 and a conference in August in Trumbull County.
