FBI arrests Russian on espionage charges at subway stop
Federal agents arrested Gennadiy Fedorovich Zakharov a 39 year old Soviet UN official on espionage charges after he bought classified documents for 1000 dollars from an informant on a Queens subway platform. The arrest follows the informant’s three year cooperation with the FBI and ties to military contractors Bendix and General Electric.
