Edison High finally lights up home field in Milan

MILAN Edison High School will host night games for the first time with four 70 foot light towers funded by volunteers and GE lighting help. Estimated total cost and installation details are still being finalized as booster clubs raise funds for wiring and related materials. The lights are to be dedicated before the Sept. 9 game with Clyde, attended by John Edison Sloane, grandson of the inventor.

Postal union rejects pact threatens illegal U.S. strike

The American Postal Workers Union rejected a three year contract, raising the chance of an illegal nationwide strike next week that could pull in federal troops to carry mail. About 100000 of 280000 clerks did not vote, with 78487 voting yes and 94400 voting no. independent tallies awaited. Federal mediators scheduled talks with USPS APWU and NALC to avert a walkout.

Massage charge dropped in vice case against Gloria Wang

Gloria Wang faced a single felony charge of promoting vice but the Municipal Court judge dismissed it for lack of evidence after the officer admitted paying for massages rather than sex.
