Suit to halt vo-ed courses in cosmetology
An Elyria cosmetologist filed suit in Lorain County Common Pleas Court seeking to stop Lorain County Joint Vocational School from offering a public cosmetology course. The action on behalf of William S. Kennedy Jr and Elyria Academy of Beauty Culture Inc. argues the school cannot legally offer the courses while Elyria Academy already provides the same instruction. The suit claims the vocational school's cost to establish the program would exceed private school education and constitutes an unlawful and unnecessary tax money expenditure.
