Supermodifieds invade area speedways at Lorain County
The Sandusky 100 weekend at Lorain County Speedway features a four-race program led by Tony Lavatt's Asphalt All Star 100. Supers race 50 laps, with Ohio Racing Association super and spectator stocks on 35 and 18 laps. Entries include Dave Shullick, Chuck Ciprich, Doug Herron, Jamie Moore, Gary Fedewa, Brad Lichty, Bob Seelman and more from six states and Canada. Gates open 5 pm, racing 8 pm both nights.

Goeske to headline 12th Regional Press Gold Cup race
Fred Goeske returns to Thompson Drag Raceway for the 12th Annual Regional Press Gold Cup Championship driving with Sam Miller in the Chicago Patrol Mustang II rocket car. The 1300 pound machine covers a quarter mile in five seconds at 245 mph, with a rocket go kart also entered. Gates open at 3 p.m. racing at 8:30 p.m. Dragway 42 also features a full weekend program.

Hartford The Sharon Raceway marks its 50th year with an Old Timers Celebration featuring Eddie Sachs and Mario Andretti roadster, vintage cars on display and a full card of super late and semi late model racing.
