Akron area garlic grows beyond the bulb
Fred Thaxton and his wife Chris run Thaxton's Organic Garlic near Akron, producing about 20,000 bulbs yearly from 11 varieties. They farm using organic methods, plant in fall, harvest in July, and rely on labor intensive hand work and field management to supply restaurants and farmers markets.
