Elyria bicentennial parade sparks family pride and local arts support
Lifelong resident Jessica Schneider and sister-in-law Holly Kennedy watched Elyria’s bicentennial parade on Ohio Street with family links to the community. The Rev. Andrew Goins of Elyria Baptist Church hosted games and refreshments, while Elyria Arts Council chair Clint Rohrbacher celebrated the council’s third year and contribution to the city’s future. A Sept. 2 Cleveland Pops concert and a Nov. 14 time capsule dedication are planned as part of ongoing bicentennial events.
