Dark Tower pale adaptation of King novel
The Dark Tower film is a shallow action story based on Stephen King’s eight book series. Idris Elba’s Gunslinger delivers a strong performance, while Matthew McConaughey fails to elevate a script that brims with missed mythic depth and cross‑world shootouts.

The Dark Tower film review from a critical lens
The Dark Tower adapts Stephen King material with decent action yet major writing flaws. The ending is a key misstep that erodes mythic core while Arcel trims the source lore, leaving a condensed, largely entertaining film for newcomers but frustrates fans.
