Coronation Curiosities From Harold Corbin
One petition before the Court of Claims concerned Baroness Furnivall who demanded the right to present a glove for the King's right hand at coronation. The case traced back to 1377 with William Furnigall serving the manor and claiming ancestral glove service. The glove or gloves varied by monarch, with Richard II receiving a red single glove while James II and George III got one each. Queen Victoria reportedly received none.
