Three cosmonauts aboard Soyuz 10 launched from Baikonur aim to rendezvous with the unmanned Salute in earth orbit as Moscow advances Phase Two of plans for a first manned space station. Tass reported an expected cartwheel orbit with up to three additional manned ships to join.

Innocent plea in brother slaying case at Lorain County farm

Albert Kuehn, 49, charged with first degree murder for the fatal shotgun blast to his brother Robert at the Kuehn farm in Elyria Township, appeared in Elyria Municipal Court claiming innocence. Robert Kuehn, 94, died at Elyria Memorial Hospital from massive hemorrhage and shock. Bond set at none. preliminary hearing scheduled for May 3. investigation ongoing.

Priests in Cleveland Diocese approve celibacy

Priests at the Second Plenary Session of the Cleveland Catholic Diocese debated celibacy and the possibility of a married priesthood. Judge frees five Lima inmates as sane ruling

Allen County Probate Court Judge David Steiner ordered five inmates of the Lima State Hospital for the Criminally Insane released after hearings with two psychiatrists and hospital officials. One man had been committed 41 years for observation after attempted rape. another 30 years for observation after gasoline theft.

Fire destroys Elyria warehouse causing major loss

A two alarm blaze destroyed a BW Plumbing and Heating warehouse at 940 Cleveland St. in Elyria, burning copper tubing and fixtures valued about $60,000. One firefighter, Lt. Charles Boals, was treated after inhalation. investigators continued probing the cause as crews battled smoky flames and traffic diversions. Owner Bob White plans to rebuild at the site.
