Miss Mary Sharp visits friends in Detroi while engineer Sherman of the Sherman Riggs Co. of Toledo is in town. Adeline Dancher spends the weekend with her parents in Detroi. Dr. and Mrs. T. C. Blaisdell travel to Ann Arbor for the State Teachers Institute. Mrs. Blaisdell will then visit Cleveland and Pittsburg for ten days. Carolenn Robinson, N. F. Notestein, and J. T. Ewing are among faculty attending the institute in Ann Arbor.

New Cafe Opens at Arcada Hotel Fronting Superior Street
Messrs Robert Havens and Jason Church of Elwell will run a cafe in the Arcada Hotel to serve guests on the European plan. The barber shop moved to the rear lobby, and the rooms were redecorated. The cafe aims to cater to both city and country trade with experienced staff.

Edwin Hopkinson Rites Mark Life Span in North Star
Obituary notes Edwin Hopkinson born April 16 1834 in England came to New York then Ohio before settling in Michigan. He died Monday October 27 1913 at age 75 6 months 11 days leaving wife and son and daughter in ill health. Funeral held at North Star residence and interment at North Star Cemetery as circuit court pursues legal actions in Chippewa construction and Detroit Trust Co. case.
