Speaker Hicksnell Young Lecture Draws Attentive Audience
The Christian Science lecture by Hicknell Young at the opera house Tuesday evening drew a large local and regional audience from Ithwea St. Louis Mt. Pleasant Carson City Middleton North Star and nearby communities. Introduced by W. Th. Marsh, Young argued that ordinary education and militarily influenced religion fail to promise present relief from evil and sin. He contended Christian Science offers a logical healing and redemption, and asked what Christ, the Christ that saved Jesus and his followers, saves us from, asserting true salvation comes from God’s gifts rather than human ignorance.
