Public Night School Opens for Evening Shorthand Classes
A public night school will organize in Room 10 of the High School Building on Monday evening, October 2 at 7. Courses offered include Gregg Shorthand with touch typewriting and business English, and a bookkeeping course with bookkeeping arithmetic and business law. Classes meet Monday and Thursday nights from 60 to 628, tuition four dollars per month in advance. Students may complete either bookkeeping or stenographic course this school year.
DeWitt Vought Nominee for Democrats in Eighth District
DeWitt Vought of this city is the Democrats nominee for Congress in the Eighth District for the November 7 election. A petition issue left his name off the primary ballot but he ran on party slips and secured the nomination with sufficient primary support in several large cities and smaller Gratiot communities.
