Supreme Court rules for Park Hotel case on water supply

Alma Chautauqua Lyceum Committee announces six acts for the winter, adding two local concerts. Bishop Francis J. McConnell opens November 8 with The Problem of Mexico, followed by a January 19 local talent show. February 5 features Harp Ensemble Company, March 2 showcases Maude Willis, and March 23 offers Edward Locke’s The Bubble. Final concert on April 20. Season tickets expected soon. Several deaths reported in Gratiot County this week include Mrs. By F. Smith and Mrs. Allie B. Dunn, plus veterans Willie Crownover and Min. J. F. Smith. Mrs. Smith died at Crystal earlier, with services and interment at Riverside Cemetery. Crownover, a Civil War veteran, died in University Hospital Ann Arbor, with funeral in Alma. Dunn died at 427 Hannah Avenue, with services and Crystal interment. Also noted are Margaret Downs of Sumner township who died in Brainerd hospital with burial at Westabrig. Additionally Pine avenue paving progress is described, with curb and scatter complete for part of the street and steel work pending arrival for a bridge over the river.
